The System We Install
We don't fit a generic filter and hope for the best. Every whole house water filter has a powder-coated cover over Big Blue 20" filter housings, and the entire frame is metal — built to handle sitting out in the Queensland sun without breaking down. Inside, three filtration stages are matched to what's actually in Sunshine Coast water, and aside from the housing itself, there's no plastic anywhere in the system.
The first stage strips out rust, dirt, sand and other sediment before it reaches the rest of the system — the same grit that scratches tapware and clogs aerators. It's treated with nanosilver to help stop bacteria building up inside the filter itself.
A coconut shell carbon block that pulls chlorine, chloramine and the compounds behind bad taste and odour out of the water — the stage responsible for softer showers and better tasting tea and coffee.
A finer catalytic carbon stage that mops up what the first two miss — remaining chlorine by-products, trace heavy metals and many common pesticides — for one final layer of polish before the water reaches your taps.

A correctly sized, professionally installed system has minimal noticeable effect. Pressure problems come from undersized DIY units or overdue cartridges — proper sizing and scheduled servicing prevent both.
